With winter (aka dry skin & hair season) right around the corner, I wanted to share some of my favourite products that have saved my skin & hair! Let’s get right to it.
Cerave Moisturizing Lotion for normal to dry skin:
I started using this product on my hands because I have really bad eczema in the summer months. I tend to “breakout” when my skin hasn’t been moisturized enough or properly, and this really does the job. I also use this as a body lotion when I feel like I need that hydration boost.
La Roche-Posay Hydreane Riche:
I have tried many face moisturizers over the years (as I’m sure all of you have as well) but I never found anything that compares to this one. I normally have dry skin, so some face moisturizers tend to burn when applied because of the fragrance, or because of the consistency of the cream. This one is so smooth, thick and rich that it doesn’t burn at all. If you use too much it can get a little bit greasy by the end of the day so just be mindful of that. They also have a “light” one if you’re not into the super rich cream.
St-Ives Smooth & Nourished Oatmeal Scrub + Mask:
I use this about once a week since I have dry skin. As the name suggests, it can be used as a scrub or as a mask, but I usually use it as a mask. I leave it on for about five minutes and it really does leave my skin feeling so smooth. My face doesn’t feel dry & tight after; it just feels hydrated.
OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Creamy Hair Butter
I love OGX products and this one is no exception. I use this hair mask once a week, and replace my conditioner with this on the day that I am using it. I find that if I use both a conditioner and this mask, my hair feels slightly weighed down.
Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm
I use this lip balm on those really dry days; when it seems like my lips are determined to stay chapped no matter what I do. After using this a couple of times throughout the day, I see a significant difference. This one doesn’t have a “taste” or an odour, which is why I talk about another lip product below.
EOS Sweet Mint Lip Balm
This is the lip balm I use the most regularly, but it doesn’t provide the same hydration as the Nivea one does on really dry lip days. I particularly like this EOS one because of its scent or “flavour”. You know when your lips are dry and they start to burn? And then you lick them to make them stop burning, only for it gets worse a minute later? The mint cools the lips and soothes that burning feeling.
Those are all of my favourite products for those really cold & dry days!
I hope this was helpful & happy Monday!
